Do It Twice

about

Per usual I try to show both sides of the coin. Not sure how often it's noticeable, but this is the negative and positive side of some of the more showy, outgoing personality types that survive in the pressure cooker we call New York.

There's a line from confident to cocky, brazen to brass. We need people to stand up, call it out, make some noise, make a mark. It's not always easy when the mark lands in an uncomfortable place.

The question I think we have to ask ourselves as artists and sons and daughters and wives and mothers and so forth is, at the end of this, what do we get?

I'm a firm believer that the means and the ends justify each other.

lyrics

Do It Twice

Fuck your mother, fuck your father.
Fuck your leaders, fuck your neighbors.
Do it all. Do it twice.

You swim to the bottom, no one’s in your way.
You write your own story, yeah graffiti your name.
What do you prove?

You swim to the bottom just to prove you can.
You write your own story, yeah you build your own set.
What do you prove?

Tell your mother, tell your father.
Tell your leaders, tell your neighbors.
Tell it all. Tell it twice.
