"We Will Break Out" is a modern, minimal chorale piece that incorporates a musical structure from world spiritual trance traditions filtered through the lens of American secular electronica.

The layers build steadily to a climax of declaration and a sudden abrupt ending.  It is written for SSAATTBB choir with an accompanying string instrument (piano, electric guitar, etc). ©℗2013 Vanessa Boyd

Lyrics: We will break out and fly.

This is the first sutra I created that changed my life. Living in New York City for several years, I had inadvertently reached a point where I was saying to myself and out loud, dozens of times per day, "I don't have time."

At first I wrote it down on a piece of paper that I would see when I woke up in the morning, and I would say it out loud at least that one time that day: "I have time."

Then after maybe a week of that, I got to where I could remember to say it to myself as a counter measure to stress. Every time I caught myself saying "I don't have time!" I would follow up with a calm, "I have time, I have time."

Around a week later, I finally got to the point where I would manage to stop the debilitating thought at its inception, and replace it with "I have time" at the outset.

Within a month, I had obliterated a terrible habit of thought and feeling, and my stress was gone. The overwhelming success of this simple process was so exciting I started on a path of more sutras for healing.
